Mind over matter

Maebh worked long hours in her workshop and spent most of her free time taking care of her family and friends. She often felt stressed and overwhelmed, and found it difficult to relax and unwind. One day, she listened to a friend “Cathbad” talk about the concept of “mind over matter”. After her conversation with Cathbad she made her way home, on the journey home she decided to learn mor about “mind over matter”.

Maebh started by learning about mindfulness. She read books and practiced breathing exercises to calm her mind. She also learned about the power of positive thinking and how to control her thoughts and emotions. With time and practice, Maebh discovered that she could change her experience of life by changing her thoughts, attitudes and the way she saw things in life.

One Halloween, Maebh faced a difficult challenge at work. A new client asked her to complete a project that she felt was beyond her abilities. She felt anxious and stressed beause this new client was very important. So she decided to sit down and put what she had learned about “mind over matter” into practice. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, focusing on calming her mind and body. Then, she visualized herself successfully completing the project, and imagined how proud and satisfied she would feel.

When Maebh opened her eyes, she felt different. She felt confident and empowered, and was able to approach the task with a positive attitude. To her surprise, the project was much easier than she thought, and she completed it with ease. She realized that her thoughts and emotions had a powerful impact on her actions and experiences.

Maebh continued to apply “mind over matter” to her life, and found that she was able to achieve her goals and overcome challenges with greater ease. She became more confident, focused, and content, and felt that she had gained control over her life.

Here is a simple meditation to help with self mastery:

Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, focusing on calming your mind and body. Have a White candle burning in the room.

Imagine a bright light surrounding you, and visualize yourself in a peaceful and calm place.

Focus on your breath, and let any thoughts or distractions drift away.

Repeat a positive affirmation to yourself, such as “I am in control of my thoughts and emotions.”

Visualize yourself successfully achieving your goals, and imagine how proud and satisfied you will feel.

Allow yourself to fully experience the feelings of confidence, empowerment, and peace.

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Repeat this meditation daily, or whenever you feel overwhelmed or stressed, to help with self mastery.

Maebh’s experience with “mind over matter” showed her that she had the power to change her thoughts and emotions, and to achieve her goals. With regular practice of meditation and mindfulness, she learned to control her mind and emotions, and to live a more fulfilling life.
